the kids over on National Review received a breaking news alert this morning that *drum roll* the new york times is endorsing...Barack Obama for President. call me crazy, but i don't think this qualifies as "breaking news," shock that it is to us all. they also have a neat little list over there of all the candidates for President that the nyt has endorsed in years past. for the supposedly prestigious journalistic ivory tower that the nyt is, the list is kind of sad:
john kerry - 2004
al gore - 2000
michael dukakis - 1988
walter mondale - 1984
jimmy carter - 1980
george mcgovern - 1972
hubert humphrey - 1968
kinda makes you think twice about the times in all its infinite wisdom, eh?
