if you have questions about the blog or the business, please feel free to email me! the link to my email is posted in my profile.

another new beginning

i've decided to start a little business selling homemade cakes, cupcakes, pies & breads to people in my general area. as such, this blog is now going to be an accessory of that business. i'll post pictures, anecdotes and perhaps a few recipes - all relating to my little endeavor. we'll see how it goes.

people don't talk like this anymore...

"Justice among the nations of mankind, and the uplifting of humanity, can be brought about only by those strong and daring men who with wisdom love peace, but who love righteousness more than peace."

- Theodore Roosevelt

this is one of the reasons why history is such a relevant discipline, why we ought to study the past - because some of the great men of this nation, and this world, see things so much more clearly than we do today. and in seeing so, are not afraid to tell others.

refreshed moniker

as you may have noticed, the name of the blog has changed. i thought this one had a little more rhetorical flourish to it (snicker snicker) as it is somewhat more farsical and fantastical in nature.

breaking news alert

the kids over on National Review received a breaking news alert this morning that *drum roll* the new york times is endorsing...Barack Obama for President. call me crazy, but i don't think this qualifies as "breaking news," shock that it is to us all. they also have a neat little list over there of all the candidates for President that the nyt has endorsed in years past. for the supposedly prestigious journalistic ivory tower that the nyt is, the list is kind of sad:

john kerry - 2004
al gore - 2000
michael dukakis - 1988
walter mondale - 1984
jimmy carter - 1980
george mcgovern - 1972
hubert humphrey - 1968

kinda makes you think twice about the times in all its infinite wisdom, eh?

the "Sarah-Cuda"

this just in: Lakota Industries, Inc., which manufactures custom bows, has created a new bow in honor of Governor Sarah Palin. this bow is not only camoflauge and uniquely designed to fit women, but it's also bright pink. the CEO of the company:

"We are so pleased to introduce the 'Sarah-Cuda' to the bow-hunting and archery community," said CEO Dick Williamson. "In addition to honoring Ms. Palin's historic achievement, we wanted to pay tribute to all the women who bear the responsibility of family and work while strengthening the moral fiber of society."

now that's just fantastic. in addition to this fabulousness, they are donating 10% of the proceeds from the sale of these bows to the National Association for Down Syndrome.
i want me one of these!!
